The Faith Formation Assistant will provide secretarial and programming assistance for the St. Robert of Newminster (SRN) Faith Formation team.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a welcoming presence and first contact for all who visit the Faith Formation Office
  • Effectively communicate with parents, students, and catechists via telephone, email, and face-to-face
  • Effectively triage incoming communications to the appropriate faith formation staff member for follow-up
  • Utilize computer resources for completion of responsibilities. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe editing software, Canva, Google Suite, YouTube and/or Camino is preferred.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Faith Formation team including but not limited to document preparation, copying, and technology preparation before and during events.
  • Support the Faith Formation team with programming and event needs as directed by the faith formation director and coordinators.
  • Maintain inventory of administrative and program supplies, the copy machine and other office necessities so that they are ready for use when needed for faith formation programming.
  • Assist the Pastoral Associates with setup for weekly faith formation classes.
  • Work with the Director of Faith Formation compiling and maintaining files and records pertaining to Safe Environment/VIRTUS training and background checks.
  • Be open to assisting Faith Formation team members, other parish staff, and volunteers with Faith Formation related activities as needed.
  • Be available to assist at special events that may take place outside of normal business hours.
  • Work some evenings during the Faith Formation school year

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Actively living the Catholic Faith and belief in all the Catholic Church teaches
  • Experience in parish catechetical ministry preferred
  • Commitment to collaboration and ability to work with a team
  • Comfort utilizing social media and various forms of computer technology
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Comfort speaking in front of large groups of people
  • Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude

Additional Requirements:

  • Criminal History Background Check
  • Participation in Protecting God’s Children Abuse Awareness Training

Status, Schedule, and Compensation:

  • Part-time, 19 Hours per week
  • Hourly wage will be based on experience, demonstrated expertise, and diocesan guidance

Accountability:

  • Directly accountable to the Director of Faith Formation
