Summary:
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish is seeking a director of faith formation
to work with the pastor and parish leadership to build the parish’s future evangelization and
faith formation efforts. The following goals and concepts articulate the mission we are working
toward: First, to focus on the purpose and goal of Assumption Parish, which is the salvation of
souls; Second, to have each person in the pews become missionary disciples of Jesus Christ;
And third, that we cultivate the homes of our families to be places where formation and
transformation in the heart of the Father is lived and experienced.

I. Role:

The director of faith formation supports the pastor in the faith formation needs of the
parish. This person also provides Christian formation, religious education, and sacramental preparation
to the parish by supervising support staff personnel, recruiting and training volunteers,
planning and evaluating program curricula, and acting as a parish resource person in
methods and areas of theology and spiritual formation.

II. Relationships:

• A key player of parish leadership in implementing a vision, a parish that intentionally
  forms missionary disciples of Jesus Christ, through authentic encounter of the Triune
  God.
• Supervises and directs: Elementary Coordinator (new position), Youth Minister, Family
  Outreach Coordinator, Faith Formation Secretary and volunteer catechists, ie. OCIA and
  OCIC.
• Recruits and develops volunteers in various adult, youth and children’s programs

III. Primary Areas of Responsibility:

• Provides leadership, supervision and coordinates the faith formation staff.
• Seeks to provide authentic Catholic catechesis and formation to the entire parish including:
  • Supervises, strengthens, develops, and expands present programs: K-12 programming, bible studies, OCIA, young adults and adult, etc. with faith formation staff.
• Develops specific applicable programs which meet the needs of parishioners, establishing new formation opportunities for adults, including young adults
• A resource for our parish school: sharing opportunities to enhance the faith programming of the school
• Opportunities for the entire parish community to grow in faith and share their story of faith.

We are seeking a Catholic faithful to the Magisterium of the Church, striving to live out his/her
faith in the world with a strong understanding of theology and evangelization. This person must be capable of bringing
mission and ideas to fruition, seeing a plan executed and realized. You must have a heart and zeal for souls, the ability to work as part of a team, and the ability to self motivate.
